Here at Digital Dreaming, you are not limited to a single character for play; we do, in fact, allow each player up to three. However, there are some specific rules and notes we've put in place for making additional chatracters. Please read these over before making a secondary (or tertiary) character, and specifically make sure that you have met the time limit stipulated in rule #6.
- You need not make an additional account for each character; in fact, we'd really prefer it if you didn't. SCORES automatically gives each user account a three-character quota, and limiting all of your characters to a single account makes tracking who each person plays an easier ordeal for the DMs.
- You are only allowed a maximum of three characters, and all of them must adhere to the same basic rules of character creation. A player who makes a secondary account in order to make more than three characters will find that account deleted (and potentially their main account as well).
- Your characters may not be related in any way, shape or form to one another. No brothers, sisters, parents, or other relatives, no co-workers, members of the same secret society, etc...you get the idea. Also, sharing information between your two characters is explicitly forbidden; this constitutes Metagaming (cheating) and will not only get the offending character removed, but may also result in a temporary ban from play. This also applies to items; you cannot move goods or gold between your characters to gain an advantage.
- Related to the above: Because it has come up in the past, we have ruled that if one of your characters advertises his or her wares in the appropriate section of the forums, your other characters may make purchases from him/her, at the posted rates only. This is closely watched and strictly enforced.
- You may play more than one character at any given time, but you may not play more than one character in the same room at once. For example, you could play one character in the Market while playing another in the Dock Ward, but you could not play two characters simultaneously in The Grinning Lion. Have a grasp of common courtesy as well; if playing in multiple scenes at once is dividing your focus to an excessive degree, keep your fellow players in mind and play in one or the other.
- Your primary character must be in play for at least 30 days prior to being able to make a secondary character. Your secondary character must be in play for at least 60 days before you may make a tertiary. This is to prevent people from making many characters before they even decide if they want to play in the game at all, let alone whether they have the time and energy to maintain more than one or two characters.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact a DM.
