Ongoing issues with the site's chat software, including lag, errors, and even crashes that result in full-site lockout for some users, as well as poor control over the blocking of spambots and other abusive accounts from our forums and site content modules, have forced us to pursue another hosting option for our game.

This process is ongoing: we have a new chat and a new forum, accessible via the above link, but migration of resources and the character creation module are still ongoing. As of right now, this has left us with a hybrid solution: follow the New Site (Beta) link and build a new account to chat and check things out, and once you're ready to make a character, use the SCORES link above.

Please mind our mess, as we hope to be fully converted over to the new site before too much longer, but we are as always at the mercy of real life.

Welcome to the Forgotten Realms: Waterdeep Online Chat!

We are a community based roleplaying group serving those who wish to participate in a story set in and near the northern city of Waterdeep. We accept players of any experience level and will gladly answer questions about the site and what it is we do here. Anyone can make an account and come in to talk with us on the chat and to get into play you only need to make a character and get it approved by a DM.

How this works:

The game here is played in a series of chat rooms that correspond to various places in the coastal city of Waterdeep and the surrounding area. Members of the community have the ability to submit characters for approval by the DM's. All characters coming into the chat must be 1st level. However they can gain XP and advance in level through adventuring, roleplay, and even by just logging into the chat daily. Adventures are run by DM's and usually fall into two general categories. Scheduled adventures are usually listed in the forums and players can "sign up" to get involved in them. Random adventures happen when a DM springs an adventure on a group of players who are in the chat talking or doing some other social play. You may ask yourself what "social play" is also. The chat is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This means that players get to do other things than adventure. This is social roleplay and usually consists of characters talking, visiting places of interest in the city or doing their day-to-day jobs. What it comes down to is that on our chat you get to play a character in both their heroic moments and the quieter times in between.
